Beer & Bone Broth Pulled Pork

Y'all like slow cooked meat us much as we do? Grab an affordable roast from your local farmer, rub, pour, set and forget this one pot meal!
 
Ingredients:
  • 1 (4-5 pound) pork butt roast
  • 1 Tbsp paprika
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 cup dark beer *can use apple cider for non alcoholic version
  • 1 cup bison or beef bone broth
  • 1 cup natural bottled barbecue sauce
  • Or make your own! For the BBQ sauce:
  • 3/4 cups ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp mustard
  • 2 Tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Directions
  1. Mix the 6 dry ingredients together and rub all over the roast
  2. Place the roast in the bottom of your slow cooker and pour the bone broth and beer into the bottom of the slow cooker, around the roast
  3. Cook on low for 8 hours, or high for 4
  4. Add 1 cup of either store bought or home made bbq sauce to the roast and cook for 15 more minutes
  5. Turn off & pull the pork roast apart using two forks
  6. Serve on top of buns with fresh slaw or over bone broth cooked rice, tallow poutine, or atop mashed potatoes with a side of veggies!
